Interacting with The Statesman at the construction site where the proposed railway station will be constructed, Amit Sudarshan, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway (NWR), said a new halt station has been proposed at Sundarpura to enhance connectivity for devotees traveling to Khatu Shyam Ji.
“A plan has been formulated to construct a modern halt station at Sundarpura at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 20 crore, with the aim of providing better, safer, and more convenient rail services to pilgrims visiting Khatu Shyam Ji,” Sudarshan said.
The proposal of the project has been submitted to the Railway Board and the construction of this station will bring great relief to pilgrims visiting Khatu Shyam Ji, making their travel smoother and easier.
He informed that the proposed Sundarpura Halt station will be developed between the Palsana and Bawadi Thikaria stations on the Sikar-Ringas section.
“This station is being developed alongside the currently approved Sikar–Ringas doubling project to ensure that future traffic requirements are also taken into account,” Sudarshan stated.
“This proposed station will be located approximately 11 kilometers from the world-famous Khatu Shyam Ji temple, and the station building will be constructed in an architectural style that reflects Rajasthan’s rich local architectural and cultural heritage,” he said.
It will be equipped with a modern booking office, a spacious waiting hall, clean restrooms, passenger amenities, and other necessary facilities.
“The development of the Sundarpura Halt station will not only make the journey more convenient for pilgrims visiting the Khatu Shyamji Dham but will also provide fresh impetus to regional connectivity, tourism, local economic activities, and overall rail infrastructure,” he said.
Last month, Vaishnaw inspected the land earmarked for the proposed Khatu Shyamji-Sundarpura railway station in Rajasthan’s Sikar district and reviewed the progress of the project with railway officials.
During the visit, the Railway Minister assessed the proposed site and held discussions with officials regarding various aspects of the project, including infrastructure development and implementation plans.
